OCTOBER, A MONTH-FUL OF AWARDS FOR “LA HIJA DE UN LADRÓN”
Belén Funes’s first feature post-produced at Antaviana Films singled out at the Som Cinema Film Festival and Valladolid’s Seminci
After its successful screening at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, Belén Funes’s first feature “La Hija de un Ladróns” has received important awards at the prestigious Valladolid’s Seminci and a the Som Cinema Film Festival.
The 64th edition of Valladolid’s Semicni has distinguished Belén Funes with the Dunia Ayuso Award, an award conceived as a homage to scriptwriter and director Dunia Ayuso who passed away 5 years ago; the Award wants to heighten Belén Funes’s approach to the female protagonist in the film which tells the story of Sara, a young woman who becomes a mother and who’s alone and has to fend for herself to keep going.Meanwhile a jury composed by Laura Jou, Coral Cruz and Pere R. Aumedes for the tenth edition of the Catalan Audiovisual Festival Som Cinema awarded “La Hija del Ladrón” with Best Picture.
