"AL OTRO LADO DEL MURO" WINS THE DOCSBARCELONA LATITUD AWARD
This Award sponsored by Antaviana Films consists of 5000€ worth of post-production work
Pau Ortiz’s documentary “Al otro la del muro” has been awarded the Latitud Prize at this year’s DocsBarcelona as it was unveiled last Sunday at the closing ceremony of this must attend documentary worldwide event in Barcelona. “Al otro la del muro” was competing alongside other documentaries from Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula.
This section’s Jury, composed of Mercedes Álvarez, Jorge Caballero, Juanjo Giménez and Aurora Moreno, has decided to distinguish Ortiz’s documentary for “the bet undertaken by the director and his decisions to balance content and form, offering thus true involvement to the audience who’s compelled to live the film in the first person.” Ortiz tells the story of two Honduran youngsters migrants in Mexico without papers, and whose mother has been unjustly condemned to prison. The wall separating them from their mum is a symbol of a deeply felt emotional conflict.
The Latitud Award at DocsBarcelona is sponsored by Antaviana Films and consists of 5000€ worth of post-production work.
