British filmmaker William Oldroy’s “Lady Macbeth” has reached the 20.000 people tag in its first opening week-end. The film, which is distributed in Spain by Betta Pictures and has won the FIPRESCI Award at the last edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival, opened on the 28th April last. “Lady Macbeth” achieves in this way position 12 on the ranking.
Antaviana films is responsible for DCP and KDM copies for the over a hundred cinemas where the film is being shown either in its original version with Spanish subtitles or its Spanish dubbed version.
“Lady Macbeth” is a drama set in the heart of rural England at the end of the XIXth Century and in which Katherine, a woman oppressed by patriarchal society, is willing to do anything to set herself free.
