Carla Simón’s first feature gets two awards at the prestigious Buenos Aires International Film Festival.
Carla Simón’s first feature “Estiu 1993” produced by Inicia Films, still gets awards and international recognition wherever it’s being presented.
On this occasion, the film has won Best Direction award at the prestigious BAFICI – Buenos Aires International Film Festival. By the same token, Simón’s film has also been awarded the Signis given by the World Catholic Association for Communication.
Antaviana Films is responsible for the sound mix on this picture which tells the story of the director’s won childhood: when she was six years’ old her mother died of AIDS and she had to move to the country to live with her uncle and aunt and her cousins.
